21 months and our first "real" haircut

I've been contemplating cutting Sam's for a while and Doug has been BEGGING me to for quite some time. I really liked it longer but as I cut it, each time it became more and more "bowl like". Now that it's summer and I saw his hair plastered down with sweat after today's park excursion, I decided....it was time. And he was finally bruise free on his face. He managed to get bitten by a few mosquitoes last night which left large red bumps and then right before we left to go to the barber he banged his face on the crib. Oh well, so much for the bruise free face. You can't really see it in this picture but he has a lump the size of a chicken egg between his eyes! Needless to say, the haircut was quite a traumatic experience.....screaming could be heard throughout the shopping center I'm sure. The result was good though....different....but good. I almost cried....he looked like a ten year old boy. Our little boy is growing up!

Doug with my "Mom's Club"

Most of you know that I am a member of the "Mom's Club" here in Macon.  I was able to meet some of my very close friends there for which I'm very grateful.  One of the mom's held an Easter egg hunt and I had to be somewhere else but I really wanted Sam to go.  So, Doug decided that he would take him despite being the only guy there.....he even posed for a pictures....what a heck of a husband/dad!  Click on the picture to make it bigger and you can see Doug's face....looks like he fits right in and is having a blast!  (That was clearly said in a sarcastic manner in case you thought otherwise!)

The beach and practicing our swing

We managed to get down to the beach a couple of times.  The wind made it kind of cool but we had fun and the kids loved putting their feet in the water.  Sam particularly loved chasing the birds!

Kids breaking it down

We went out to eat at "The Salty Dog" one night and there was a guy playing the guitar and singing out on the dock outside. You can see the stage to the left of the picture.  The kids loved it and danced for a good ten minutes....we had to drag them away. I don't think they minded since we got ice cream afterwards!

Rub, Rub, Rub....4 kids in the tub!

Holli's house in Hilton Head had a large tub in the master bath....we decided to pile all of the kids in the there...this picture was right before everyone started melting down!

Girls (and kids) getaway to Hilton Head

Doug's buddies came down from PA over the weekend of the Masters.  As much as I love those guys, I figured that Sam and I would go to Hilton Head with three of our favorite friends.  All of us, Holli, Christie, Brooke, and myself have children that are just about the same age so it was a blast......hectic but a blast!  Brody was the only one missing from this picture....he was up on the playground.  From left to right....Sam, Mia, and Harrison.

Easter in Florida

Before we headed back to GA on Easter sunday we had brunch at University Park with the whole family.  Rebecca and I hoped to get a picture of all of the kids together in their cute little matching outfits but that proved to be impossible.  Caitlin is too fast and Sam was too grumpy.  Oh well, maybe next year.  We had a great time.  Sam enjoyed hanging out with his cousins and visiting with DD and Big Daddy.  As usual, time just goes by too quickly.

Easter Egg Hunt at University Park

Saturday morning was a lot of fun....we took the kids to University Park Country Club (the new golf community where DD and Big Daddy live) where there was yet another Easter Bunny and Easter egg hunt.  Poor Sam, as soon as they said "go" all of those kids were off collecting the eggs as fast as they possibly could....he managed to grab four to put in his little basket.  We walked on the practice putting green and Sam was already getting ready to play some golf.....he really wanted in that golf cart!  Notice my belly now.....she's getting big (and so am I...yikes!)!

Sarasota Jungle Gardens

We went down to Florida to go my family over the Easter weekend.  On Friday we went to the Sarasota Jungle Gardens where they had an Easter egg hunt and pictures with the Easter bunny.  There are flamingos that walk among you at one part in the park....Sam thought it was pretty cool.  We managed to snap a cute picture of Betsy, Caitlin, and Sam with the Easter bunny.
