Hanging with friends

Sam and I went to spend an afternoon with some friends at the pool. These are just a few of the great "mommy" friends that I have met over the last few months. From left to right are Brooke and Brody, Jen and Ashlyn, Sam and I, and Jessica and Maddox. We were over at Jen's neighborhood pool that has a fun slide. I took Sam down for a ride.....I think he wasn't quite sure what to make of it!

Cousins

Towards the end of the week there was a moment where the sun came out briefly one late afternoon. We took the kids down to the beach to play. When we came back, they were all very sandy so we rinsed them off in the outdoor shower.

There was a break in the rain so we decided to take the kids to the playground. Betsy rode in her special seat on Rebecca's bike. I towed Caitlin and Sam in the trailer behind my bike.

Sand tastes good!

We had a great time on the beach....unfortunately this was pretty much it for the beach. We had an unusual cool front come through that brought a lot of rain and cloudy weather......day after day. But, we still enjoyed the time we had with the Neals and DD and Big Daddy.

Headed to the water

Sam was a little apprehensive at first of the water. We took him in the pool first and then we headed for the beach the next morning.

Flat tire on I-75

This was just a prelude of what was to come for the week. We managed to get a flat tire on 75. I took this picture from under a big tree where Sam and I were waiting while Doug was changing the tire on the other side. But, we finally made it and the kids ate breakfast together the next morning.

Off we go!

We left last Friday for our first vacation as a family. As you can see we have the car top carrier and everything! We're headed to Anna Maria Island, FL.

10 Months

Sam is 10 months old now and he doesn't really crawl the conventional way but he can move pretty fast! It won't be long now. He also now eats nothing but big boy finger foods. He loves whole wheat pasta, avocados, fish, chicken, cheese, strawberries, peas, and he'll eat yogurt until the cows come home. We are getting ready for our vacation down to Florida this upcoming week...we can't wait!

It was finally time to break out Sam's pool that DD and Big Daddy gave him for Easter. He loved it!
